Carr Hill High School Project

A S Sports Systems Limited were pleased to be awarded the tender by Lancashire County Council, in association with the Crescent Purchasing Consirtium (CPC) for the project at Carr Hill High School in Kirkham, Preston.

Even with the Covid-19 pandemic with unfavorable weather conditions, works were completed as planned. With all the correct Health and Safety measures in place and adhered too.

Before…

Works at Carr Hill High School, in accordance with the Tender Specification were to “Supply and Install a Multi Use Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP).”

Ground Works

The existing surface was a macadam sub-base surface, works included  preparation and remedial works  to the existing macadam including piercing drainage holes, repair of crack, hollows, dips and bumps using levelling compound to provide a stable base.

The clients for this project also opted for the supply and installation of Pre-Cast Concrete Kerb Edgings. Also break out and backfill of netball sockets ready for the replacement netball posts and nets.

Installation…   

The installation aspect of the Project was “To resurface the Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) with a the Playrite Matchpad 1500 pre-fabricated shockpad and Playrite Match Play 2 synthetic grass system.

This included the permanent in-laid line markings for a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) to inc. a centre line, 2 x D’s and Netball.

Using Envirostik ultra fix 2 part adhesive and LMP tape. Completing the project using Mineral Marketing for the sports grade silica sand infill as per manufacturers guidance. this was evenly distributed and brushed into the finished pile.

The surface area was a total of 1,214.40 square metres.

 

Upon completion…

Works commenced in August and were completed within the scheduled 3 week timescale. 

Warranty was issued in accordance with the specification for both the installation and the synthetic surface for a period of 5 years.

We issued an O&M manual which included full product information with data sheets, warranty, maintenance guide and waste transfer information. 

Upon handover of the Project we not only received fantastic feedback from the client, we also received some heartwarming feedback from some of the students  which we hope will enjoy the pitch for years to come.
