Cheshire County Sports Ground Project

A S Sports Systems Limited were pleased to be awarded the project, for the Replacement Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP) at Cheshire County Sports Ground (Pitch 2).

Before…

Works on the Project in Hoole Village, Cheshire began in August 2020 and involved up-lifting the existing artificial grass pitch.

By cutting the existing pitch into manageable pieces, rolling each piece with the aid of an excavator and telehandler. Before strapping and banding each roll, for loading and removal from site for re-purposing.

Base and Shock pad repairs’…

The existing shock pad was cleaned and inspected. Any localized areas that needed repair were reported to the client and repairs were carried out, on the Regupol 15/9 Prefabricated rubber Shockpad using the appropriate Trocellen sports jointing tape.

A straight level test was carried out on various areas of the pitch.         Works were also completed around the perimeter of the pitch, to chamfer the shock pad with wet pour rubber at 200mm circumference.

Installation…

The new Lano surface was laid on the repaired shock pad, before being trimmed and jointed with specialist sports carpet adhesive and backing tapes.

We supplied and installed Lano Profoot_TLT_Star_50_-_14_DD_GB_Special artificial grass. Lano were able to support with the customers requirements by providing extra primary backing to carpet.

The installation included 100mm in-laid line markings for 3x cross play 6v6 pitches in Yellow (As per drawing supplied by Cheshire County Sports Club.)

Once  the synthetic surface installation was completed. With the aid of our TORO utility spreader. The sports grade silica sand was applied. It was evenly distributed and brushed into the finished pile.

The Client also opted to for an extra 4kg per m2 of silica sand infill.  

The same process was then completed to apply the SBR rubber infill all as per the recommended infill rates issued on the data sheets by the manufacturers..

The surface area was 60m x 60m a Total of 3,600 square metres.

Upon completion…

Upon completion the Project was handed over to a satisfied Client.

We issued an O&M manual which included full product information with data sheets, installation and manufacturers warranty, maintenance guide and waste transfer / disposal information.
