WHY CHOOSE A 3G RUGBY PITCH?
The new generation of 3G artificial grass is not only manufactured to replicate natural grass in appearance, it also replicates grass in its playing characteristics (eg bounce, impact, pace etc) and performance. The safety and comfort of players has also been greatly improved (grazes and friction burns have reduced substantially) on the rugby pitch. The improved qualities of a 3G rugby pitch are so impressive it is now recognised and accepted as a certified playing surface by the rugby international governing bodies such as the RFU and the IRB.
HOW LONG IS A RUGBY PITCH?
The field of play for a rugby pitch is 94-100m but can vary between 106 and 144m with the in-goal areas included. Rugby union pitches must comply with Law 1 and should be 100m long from inside of the touchline to the inside of the opposite touchline.
The World Rugby Regulation 22 was introduced in 2003 to ensure that the natural playing characteristics of grass are replicated by 3G surfaces for rugby fields. Rugby turf offers an ideal alternative where natural grass pitches would be difficult whilst still adhering to Rugby Union standards.

RUGBY PITCH DIMENSIONS
Rugby field dimensions that are smaller than 80m long and 55m wide are only suitable as training grounds. To ensure that your rugby field is the correct dimensions for your needs, we will always assess your needs via our consultation process.
