A S Sports Systems Limited priced for this Project in 2019, ready for the replacement ‘Astro Pitch’ in the School Summer Holidays 2020.
With a hard working team of A S Sports Systems Limited installers, during the Covid-19 pandemic. In accordance with the site rules and regulations put in place by the Government; around ‘Site Operating Procedures’ works commenced in May and as scheduled, they were completed within the programmed 5 weeks for handover in June 2020.
Before… 
In accordance with the requirements we removed the existing ‘sand filled’ pitch. By cutting it into manageable pieces banded and clipped ready for removal from site, this was transferred in accordance with duty of care required by environment agency for recycling / re-purposing.
Any other waste removed from site, was done so by companies which comply with environment Agency waste transfer and disposal guidelines. Where possible all waste is recycled with few items sent to landfill.
Removal and Base preparation…
The base already in place was an in-situ shockpad. The shockpad was in fairly good condition, therefore localised repairs were carried out on the existing shockpad using SBR rubber and binder as required.
Before passing a ‘straight level test’ ready for the installation of the new 3G ‘synthetic surface’.
Installation…
The client on this project https://www.interserve.com/ requested a new 3G sand and rubber filled synthetic surface.

Line Markings…
For Football and Hockey use; 100mm in-laid line markings were supplied and installed for 1x Full size Football, Full size Hockey and 7v7 cross play.
Infill…
The supply and installation of silica sand and SBR rubber infill, was completed in accordance with manufacturers guidance.
Both products were evenly distributed using a Toro utility vehicle and brushed into the pile, which was finished using a drag mat / drag brush.
The surface area was 97.5m x 61m a Total of 5,948 square metres.

A S Sports systems arranged for a full replacement ball-stop fencing system, works were to supply and install a full new 868 rebound fencing post and panel ball-stop system. incorporating wooden kickboards installed at the base of the fence with 1x double and 2x single gates.
The fencing upgrade was completed by https://www.blfencing.co.uk/.
We also arranged for the design and supply of a pair of Di-bond signs to advise the correct footwear to use on the pitch.
